Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
What this does
Adds an extra layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you confirm your identity with a second verification step before being granted access.
Verifying with 2FA at Login
Step 1: Sign in with your email and password. If 2FA is enabled on your account, the 2FA screen appears automatically after password entry.
The screen shows which verification method is active (Authenticator App, SMS, or Email).

Step 2: Retrieve your verification code:

| Authenticator App | Open Google Authenticator, Authy, or your preferred app |
| SMS | Check your registered mobile number |
| Check your registered email inbox |
Step 3: Enter the code in the "Authentication code" field and click "Verify".
Note: The code has a time limit shown as a countdown timer. If it expires (timer reaches 0), click "RESEND OTP" to receive a new code.
Step 4: If you cannot access your usual 2FA method, click "USE A RECOVERY CODE" and enter one of your saved backup recovery codes.
Setting Up 2FA on Your Account
You can enable 2FA from User Settings.
Step 1: Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select "My Settings".
Step 2: Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication section.
Step 3: Toggle "Enable two-factor authentication" to ON.

Step 4: Choose your preferred method:
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Authenticator App | Scan a QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, or a similar app |
| SMS/Text Message | Receive a one-time code via SMS to your mobile number |
| Receive a one-time code to your registered email address |
Step 5: Follow the on-screen setup steps for your chosen method. Once configured, the method displays a green "Configured" badge.
Recovery Codes
After setting up 2FA, Process Genie generates a set of recovery codes. These are single-use backup codes you can use to sign in if you ever lose access to your 2FA method.
⚠️ Important: Save your recovery codes in a secure location immediately. You will not be able to view them again after closing the setup dialog.
Disabling 2FA
To turn off 2FA, go to My Settings → Two-Factor Authentication and toggle it OFF. You will be asked to confirm with your current password.
