Troubleshooting Cloud Workload Import Resource Errors

Overview

This guide explains how to troubleshoot errors encountered when using the Import Resources button while creating a scan in the Cloud Workload Risks module. Specifically, it covers how to resolve invalid credential errors by deleting the affected cloud connector and setting up a new one.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Cloud Workload Risks dashboard
  • Access to the Integrations management dashboard

Understanding the Error

When creating a new Cloud Workload Risks scan, selecting a cloud provider, and choosing a connector, clicking the Import Resources button attempts to load your cloud assets. If the credentials associated with that connector are invalid or have expired, an error message will appear preventing the import process.

Because connector credentials cannot be edited once saved, the integration must be recreated to resolve the issue.

Steps to Resolve Invalid Credentials

1. Identify the Failing Connector

  1. Navigate to Cloud Workload Risks and initiate the scan creation process.
  2. Select your Cloud Provider (e.g., Azure Cloud) and choose the appropriate connector from the dropdown.
  3. Click Import Resources (e.g., Import Resources from Azure).
  4. If an error message indicates that the provided credentials are not valid, make a note of the specific connector name being used.

2. Delete the Invalid Connector

  1. Navigate to Integrations from the main menu to manage your cloud connections.
  2. Click the Connected Providers tab to view all active cloud integrations.
  3. Locate the connector you identified in the previous step.
  4. Delete this connector.

3. Create a New Integration

  1. In the Integrations dashboard, click Create New to add a fresh cloud provider connection.
  2. Provide the newly generated, valid credentials for your cloud environment.
  3. Save the new integration.

4. Re-attempt the Scan Creation

  1. Return to the Cloud Workload Risks module.
  2. Begin creating a new scan.
  3. Select the updated connector from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Import Resources to successfully load your cloud assets.
  5. Select the target host for the scan from the imported list.
  6. Click Create Scan to launch your security scan.
